A big day: part two

We arose bright and early.

Convocation was at 8:00. (I can't remember the last time I had to be somewhere at 8)

Doesn't he look so scholarly?

Brandon's parents spent the night in our 4-star accomodations and joined us for the celebration. (Now taking summer reservations)

Yummy creme brulee french toast was served. Finishing college in 4 years definitely deserves a sinful brunch like that!

A big day: part one

April 23 was a Big Day…

Why a big day you might ask? Let me tell you why.

#1-April 23 was our 8th month anniversary! Yes, we still celebrate each month by trying to do at least something little. I made banana muffins for breakfast since Brandon LOVES muffins. When I went out to my car to leave for work, Brandon had put heart post-its all over the inside with a letter on each one spelling out-HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BABE! I kind of felt like I had just gotten married as people did a double take as I drove by. It made me smile!

#2-Brandon graduated! YEAH! I felt a sense of nostalgia as I watched all the graduates walking in as Pomp and Circumstance played on the organ thinking that a YEAR ago, this was me! Wow, it feels like forever ago. So much has happened in a year. I felt a little sad thinking that this chapter of our lives is over, but we are looking forward to what the future will bring! I am so proud of Brandon for working hard to accomplish such a big thing.

Brandon and one of his best friends Dallin

Our good friend Diana also graduated. Her husband was Brandon's roommate and mission companion.

#3-My Mom passed away 8 years ago. I still remember that weekend so vividly, yet it seemed so surreal at the time. I often wonder if/how my life would be different if she were still here. She loved her family so much and always put our needs above her own. She found great joy in serving us and others, attending countless track meets and soccer games, spreading holiday cheer, being the life of the party, and bearing her strong testimony. I remember my sister telling me about a family friend who had wondered why Heavenly Father would take her away when her family was her life. And then she realized that her being in Heaven would allow her to be with all of us! I wouldn’t have recognized this 8 years ago, but after seeing how spread out our family has and will probably be, it is great to know we can all feel her spirit wherever we may be.

#4-Grandpa Sunday passed away early this morning. I never knew him, but I'm excited to meet him someday.

BUSY LIFE=GREAT LIFE

I know I've been slacking. I haven't posted on my usually mid-week schedule. I hear that I had some friends that doubted that I would keep up my posts and it seems like they must know me pretty well. So I'll fill you in with what Mel and I have been up to.

Baking Cookies!
Step One

First, I have become not just a world-renowned cook but Miss(or good cookies) has inspired me to become more of a baker. I'll be honest they were good. They lasted about a week besides the secret stash we kept in the freezer that we finished yesterday.

Step Two
Step Three

Traditions Ball!

Melissa and I went to the Annual Student Alumni Associations Traditions Ball.
Doesn't she look great?

Easter!!!
Melissa and I colored our own eggs. As you can see she is much more artistic than am I but I was pretty proud of my Humpty Dumpty egg and my Dinosaur egg.

Melissa made our Easter baskets this year and I really do think that they are adorable.

Here Halle is concentrating really hard on decorating our homemade (by Brandon) brownies.

Moms and Grandmas watching over the day's events.

The Easter Bunny came to the Sunday's House!

The reactions of his arrival in both 2008 and 2009.

My last day of school before finals!
Nostalgia

And the latest is Melissa's and my movie called "Life"
The movie teaches about loving life and was inspired by a talk entitled "Finding Joy in the Journey" by President Thomas S. Monson.

Stayed Tuned!
I am currently adding English subtitles to the movie since the whole thing was done in Russian for my Russian Film final.

A Recent Project

I found these adorable photo albums at Ross--both for $10! I turned them into recipe books by typing and printing all my favorite recipes. They have definitely made cooking fun again!

The view from my office

It's April 15th.

And it's snowing.

Like it was Christmas.

Where is Spring?

(Notice the lillies in the window? Brandon brought them by last week. I put them on the windowsill to get some sun, but sadly there has been none!)

Thank You...for looking at our blog and giving us advice.

Thank You...for not hating us because as some of you guessed, it was an April Fool's joke. We hope you will still give us advice in the future...and we won't post anything false...that is until next year on April 1st. :)

Thank You...for being our friends! We love staying in touch.

Have a great weekend! We will unveil our real plans when we know them.

*P.S. Those are real houses for sale in Manti in case anyone is moving there. We took the pictures ourselves.

It's official...we are moving

Do you remember that road trip we took to Manti a few weeks ago? Well, it was not a random trip like you may have thought. Brandon actually got a job offer to work for the city there and since his ultimate dream is to be a city planner, we felt like this would be a good starting place. We were able to check out some of the homes for sale there and surprisingly, they were all pretty affordable. These were the best of the best...

Life does not always turn out how we plan, but we look forward to this new adventure starting end of Summer 2009. Let us know if you have any house buying tips and which you like better...We are clueless.
