employed

As of yesterday, I am officially employed. I leave my 5 month sabbatical with mixed emotions. I have loved my time off. When I first heard that there was a good chance I would be laid off, me being a "list person" made this super long list of things I could do with my time off. The list went like this:
  • Visit friends
  • Spend time with relatives
  • Make some crafts
  • Get a pedicure with my gift certificate
  • Make dinner
  • Visit with grandpa/help my aunt
  • Make pillowcases and sell on Etsy
  • Do a major campaign for Guest Books by Mel
  • Work out
  • Compile and label 2009 photos
  • Volunteer at the hospital
  • Go to temple at least 2x a month
  • Do extra things for my YW
  • Send out Christmas cards
  • Organize cookbook
  • Work on t-shirt quilt
  • Find a new job
I am proud to say that I accomplished all of these. I even had time to do a few other things:
  • Start the SO FESTIVE! blog
  • Cook dinner almost every night
  • Babysit my niece and nephew for a week
  • Learn to coupon shop
  • Refinish some furniture
  • Move and reorganize an entire house
  • Sleep in :)
  • Learn to make homemade bread
  • Have weekly get-togethers with a good friend
  • Train for a 1/2 marathon
But after 5 months of not having a specific schedule, I was ready to find something. I feel like I should be contributing financially to my family while I still can. After much much looking and searching, I have found the perfect job for now.

I will be working for Overstock.com in their HR department. It's just a part-time position which I couldn't be happier about. I can be working and still enjoy the summer (if it will ever come)

To celebrate...we had a little bbq last night. The first of the season. It was delightful.

That was a very uplifting post. I find that I don't seem to accomplish as much as I used to or would like to while I am at home (partly the baby's fault). I feel so inspired now! Congrats on the job!

That's exciting! Chad's brother, Mike, works at Overstock- I'm not sure as what, but I know it's not HR.

Congrats!
